Make Your Own Nail Polish

There have been times where I have looked all over to find a certain color of nail polish and didn't have any luck. If this has happened to you then maybe I can help! Below you can follow the easy steps to making your own nail polish.

What you will need:
1. Clear coat nail polish or white nail polish
2. A funnel (an envelope will work great!)
3. An eyeshadow that you aren't going to use
4. Glitter (optional)
5. Scissors
6. Small stick (toothpick)

Step 1: Take the eyeshadow color of your choice and crush it up. You want to crush it up enough that it is almost like dust!

Step 2: Snip a very small piece of the corner of the envelope off. Place the snipped off area over top of the clear coat (or white) nailpolish bottle. Then poor the eyeshadow into the envelope. If you would like to add glitter you can!

Step 3: Stir the nailpolish up well with the toothpick. Close the bottle and shake it.

Step 4: Try it out. If you aren't satisfied with the color add more eyeshadow/glitter.

  1. Awesome! I think I need to try this out. :)

  2. Thanks for commenting Olivia =] I appreciate it!

  3. This is a great idea! Finally, a use for all those old dried up eyeshadow pallets!

  4. Yes! I just use eyeshadows that I would never wear or just wouldn't look good on me =P Thanks for commenting!

  5. I have Pearlex Powders I use with polymer clay. An alternate brand would be Perfect Pearls. I am wondering how those would work for this...I would imagine any glitter used would have to be tested that the colors would not bleed, etc... I have everything from hexagon sequin centers to ultra fine glitters and even colored sand.

  6. I'm not sure how those would work for this either. And as for glitters I've never came across that many that bleed. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
